Who would you recommend?

Twitter can seem like a lonely place when you’re first starting out.  Fear not, help is at hand in the new version of TweetDeck with the new ‘TweetDeck Recommends’ column.  TweetDeck Recommends makes it easier for Twitter newbies or veterans of the Twitterverse alike to find new and interesting people to follow.

We’ve hand picked people we find interesting, thought provoking, or even laugh out loud funny.  If you’re a new user this column will show up by default.  Don’t worry though it’s not a ‘new user only’ feature, if you’ve been using TweetDeck for a while but you’d still like inspiration on who to follow simply click the thumbs up icon and the TweetDeck Recommends column will be added.  When you find someone you’d like to follow simply click on Follow.  Job done!

If you’d like to suggest someone fascinating to include in TweetDeck Recommends in future please email us at recommend@tweetdeck.com with their Twitter username, what they tweet about and why you think we should include them.  Don’t bother getting your Mom to recommend you though, we’ll see straight through that.

I like the concept and I like that you're asking for recommendations, but is there any way to make this user-generated in future builds? Otherwise I fear it risks being a spin on Twitter's existing (and controversial) suggested user list.

It would be nice to see something that mixed the openness of #followfriday with the structure of the SUL, without suffering the huge negatives of either.

Couldn't you have something that counts #followfriday and #ff recommendations, but in a way you can filter. like 'only friends of friends' and 'non verified accounts only'. Something like that would amazing.

I would recommend @oneearthcom. It's a Twitter feed from www.oneearth.com, which is like a craigslist for sustainability. I found out how to compost in my apartment there. Super cool?

Is there any way to turn off this column in tweetdeck? It's very annoying, and I don't find the recommendations all that helpful or relevant. If it could be optional (like a featured search column) that could be turned on or off, that would be fine, but that seems not to be the case right now. Future version, perhaps?

meh - the problem is that the recommendations will never take into account the personal preferences of the new user - unless you plan on asking a bunch of questions about interested topics and also have a tagged reference on the kind of tweets that the 'recommended' tweeters are posting.

I'd recommend @GeoffJohns0, he's the writer of Green Lantern and the Flash and his tweets are some of the most ludicrously funny things to come into my feed. From his excursions to 7/11 to his drama trying to watch the Transformers movie you'll not be disappointed by following him.

Just like #followfriday maybe allocate a hashtag so that people can recommend users through Twitter? That might work well if implemented the right way!

Dear friend,
How are you recently?
I bought a laptop from a website: www.koreadeal.com last week. I have
got the product .Its quality is very good and the price is
competitive. They also sell phones, TV, psp, motor and so on. By the
way, they only sell new and original products. The website has high
reputation which has many good feedbacks. If you need these products,
it is a wise choose to have a look at the website. I am sure you will
get many surprise and benefits.
Greetings!
