TweetDeck for iPhone - now with added Awesome

Good news everyone, after some initial problems, the updated TweetDeck app for the iPhone is available now from the AppStore.

Here's a rundown of some of the great new features we have for you in this release :

Facebook integration

You can now access your Facebook account as well as your Twitter account to ensure you always stay connected with your friends while mobile. Add Facebook columns, update your status, write on your walls, comment & like... all from within the app.

Video uploading

You can now share videos while on the move. The TweetDeck app allows you to send a videos to both Twitter and Facebook thanks to the built-in 12 Seconds functionality. You can take a video direct with the camera in your iPhone 3GS, or upload a video already stored on your phone. Just remember that any video uploaded will be truncated after 12 seconds to keep things simple.

Landscape compose mode

Need a bigger keyboard when composing your updates? Switch to the landscape keyboard and type away!

Trending Topics

Always be up to date with what's hot in the Twitterverse with the new Twitter trends feature. You can now view the Twitter trending topics in the app and can quickly create a search column to track the tweets that are hitting the big time right now.

Tweets Nearby column

You will always know when your Twitter friends are close, thanks to the new Tweets Nearby column. Using the GPS in your iPhone you can view tweets from everyone within a configurable range of your current location.

Address Picker

You'll never again have to struggle to type @replies correctly, thanks to the new address picker function. One touch will bring up a list of your most active friends. Touch the name of the friend you want to @reply to and their ID will be added to your tweet.

Save Draft

Need to make a phone call or check your email while composing an epic update? Just touch Cancel then Save to keep your message as a draft. Next time you return to the compose window your masterpiece will still be there waiting to be completed.

Open in Safari

Do you ever wish that you could open links direct in the iPhone Safari browser? Well now you can. Just open the link as normal then touch the Safari button to close TweetDeck and open the web page in you iPhone's browser instead.

bit.ly account support

You can now add your bit.ly account details into the iPhone app just like you can in the desktop version. This allows you to ensure all links that you shorten through the iPhone TweetDeck are stored in your own bit.ly account.

These are just some of the highlights from a long list of update, new features and fixes that have been built into v1.1 of the iPhone app.  You can check out the full changelog here.

v1.1.1 of TweetDeck for the iPhone is available in the AppStore here.

I'm having trouble downloading the latest update. It's telling me it's no longer on the App Store. I'll try again later I guess.

Hey there,

Love the facebook integration on the iphone app, but for some reason my "All Friends" column isn't updating at all. Is this a common bug?

hope you can get back to me.

Congratulations on an amazing release! Really stunning work.
But...and there's always a but... it would be even better if it had a "load more tweets" button! Pulling in 100 or so tweets is nowhere near enough. Unless I'm missing something.

I am loving TweetDeck and I love all of the improvements you are making. Is there any way you can add messages into the Facebook integration? That would be super helpful!

Please, add an option to set a default column to be displayed when the app starts. I don't need to be presented with three columns. When that option is there I'll definitely switch. Until then, Twitterific it is.

Why is the trending topics + ability to create a search column being touted as a "new feature" - it was already present in the previous version?

And another thing: in the previous post about Twitter Lists, you announce that you had submitted a new Tweedeck version to the iPhone which lead me to believe that the new Tweetdeck for iPhone update would include Twitter Lists support - so where's the Twitter Lists support in the iPhone version?

Any chance we can get the pictures that we take through tweetdeck to save to the phones memory? It's the only thing keeping me at tweetie right now...but I would love to convert 100%.

Are there any plans to make an app for blackberry devices, particularly the Storm2? I love my desktop app and I am not fond of the UberTwitter app for BB.

First off, i just want to say that i really like TD - it's my preferred desktop and iphone app, but it would really be great if you could change it so that i can click through to links when browsing someone's recent tweets. it really annoys me that i can't do this. So, for example, if i were to click in to someone's tweet, then tap their profile name, then press 'Recent Tweets', i now see their recent tweets. The annoying this here is if they have posted a link, or twitpic, Tweetdeck doesn't allow me to click the link, so i just get frustrated. Tweetie allows for this, but i'd rather stay using TD.

Aside from that, I love the app. Thanks.

This may be a dumb question, but where is the TweetDeck feature to delete tweets? I'm stuck on Twitterific because of the delete feature. If TweetDeck has a delete feature I sure as hell don't know about it. I wouldn't use Twitterific at all if I could delete tweets, dm's, and whatever needs deleting with Tweetdeck. Can someone please get back to me on this?

I really depend on the integration with Instapaper. Do you have this planned in any upcoming version? I like the iPhone version you have, but the Instapaper feature would help me be able to use it over another app ;)

Any word on updates to stop the tweet loss? I have my TD set to update as frequently as it can without overloading the API and I follow a lot of people so I'm missing quite a few tweets. I'm assuming this has to do with the issue of tweets not coming through that are sent while TD is updating.

I'm sure it's happening more than I realize as I only notice it when someone replies to a tweet that I didn't get and I see their reply. It's really frustrating. I'm considering dumping TD for another client because of this. It's the only reason I don't recommend it to everyone I talk to.

Hi. I love Tweetdeck, both on my laptop and my iPhone. However, I really wanna bail iPhone for the Droid phone. Any word on an Android version? It's a serious factor in whether I switch to Verizon or not.

Why, why, why no Android app??? There are lots of us, I promise, and many more on the way. As an early Android adopter , I can tell you that the companies that have embraced the android community early and have done so with more than just a sorry version of of the iphone app(Upstream is a good example, I can live broadcast from my phone) hold a special place in our loyal, robotic hearts. I love Tweetdeck and want you guys to be on my phone!

Any chance for a TweetDeck Lite that doesn't have Facebook and Myspace integration? I'd really prefer to use a version that is pure Twitter since I don't use FB or MS and would prefer the resources those use free again.

Using iPhone 3GS - Downloaded 1.1.1. Its fine for what i needed it for with Twitter, i'm not really a Twitter power user so dont have the gripes as posted above, but what attracted me was the dual Twitter/Facebook use.... well...i log into Facebook, it tells me i am logged in but shows no statuses. Everytime i referesh it says this "Facebook Error! We are having a problem reading your Facebook stream. Please re-verify facebook permissionsor logout and reconnect to facebook in settings. Sorry."

Well i do this, it reverifys permissions but still goes back to that message..

Help.

We are having a problem reading your facebook stream ........" If somebody can help ... info17@fastdata.de or @a61191 for twitter. Thank you

TweetDeck for iPhone - now with added crashes!

I have been using and enjoying TweetDeck on my iPhone for a while, but the last version is buggy and the app crashes - if not on start then at first attempt to scroll...

I’m sorry to see this happens as TweetDeck has been my favorite-twitter-app....
