Multiple reasons to use TweetDeck

So here’s the real deal, I’ve been dying to get multiple accounts on TweetDeck just as much as you all.  Switching between the TweetDeck account and my personal account got tired a long time ago. But we didn’t want to do it any old way, we wanted to make sure it worked brilliantly for you and allowed you to manage and tweet from all of your accounts at the same time without switching between them.

You can add another Twitter account easily in the settings window. Tweeting from any of your accounts is really easy and doesn’t require any switching, you can even cross post tweets. And managing all of your Twitter accounts couldn’t be easier, simply create columns for your various accounts so you can keep track of everything, all at once in TweetDeck.

Plus with TweetDeck for iPhone managing multiple Twitter accounts is simple even when you’re on the move.

Now that multiple accounts is available in the new version of TweetDeck we hope you’ll agree it’s been worth the wait.

I agree. It's a brilliant app! (both of them).. Please just re-add the 'minimize to tray' feature

It's pretty great & takes Twitter to a new level. And if you add Instapaper functionality to the iPhone version, it will be near perfect! Also it would be nice if we could clear columns on the iPhone version as in the desktop version. Great work!

Good application but I would love to have the option to combine all accounts into one timeline like on Seesmic Desktop. That's what is keeping me from going back to TweetDeck.

TweetDeck is brilliant - but I notice that the tray icon has stopped working in recent versions (on Linux at least)... and unfortunately this is a showstopper for me. :( Any chance of getting it working again?

Like being able to cross post from multiple accounts but can't figure out how to get a blended All Friends column of all accounts in one column.. with 7 accounts it's too many columns to try and keep up and I just want it all in one.

The ability to manage several accounts for the same login is great The fact you can update facebook at the same time is just fantastic It has saved me so much time and effort these past few days that I recommed it all the time now.

Having a column for each "All Friends" seems counter-intuitive. I do like the 1 post going to many accts at a time method, but the multi-All Friends is a deal breaker and why I'm using Seesmic currently.

I can't quite pin it down, but I can't seem to get myself to use TweetDeck over TwitterFon on iPhone, even with the ads! I imagine Facebook integration into the iphone app would probably sway me, but I'm puzzled by my lack of switching 'cause I like the desktop app so much.

thanks for multiple accounts. Could you now find a way to show more than 100 following twits because that limits all columns ?

Love the iPhone app (although this first version crashes A LOT) but the desktop app is a too cumbersome with all the panes. The app takes up too much space and its a pain to switch between groups, especially when yo have multiple accounts. Making that easier (like seesmic) would be great (then I can only use TweetDeck.

I've actually just switched to Seesmic Desktop. Tweetdeck just wasn't co-ordinating my groups properly and doesn't upload them onto my iPhone.

my main thing i like is that it puts all the posts i missed on one column instead of the twitter page where you have to clikc "more" and wait for its long load time

I like not having both accounts in one column. I follow completely different types of people between the 2 and appreciate the ease of separating them out. Maybe have as an option to combine?

And add another for the minimize to tray.

I'd like the ability to scoll up and down each column using the mouse wheel, or even the up/down arrows on my keyboard. Having to click on the scroll bar again and again (and again) is tiring (and inefficient).

Maybe I'm missing something, but I still don't see Tweetdeck for iPhone as the ultimate tool that everyone else does... yet. I still see a few problems then could easily be corrected IMO.

On the iphone app:
- there is currently no way to delete a DM - in fact there are DM's still appearing in Tweetdeck that I have already deleted on Twitter???
- where are Trends?
- where is Search?
- How do I go direct to a user?
- Tweetie has a 'Nearby' feature which I use to meet other Twitterers in my area.

Tweetie is still my top choice on the iPhone for usability and features.

If I've missed something - let me know, otherwise I look forward to updates and added features on Tweetdeck for iPhone.

I would like to see the ability to have a group of "ungrouped" contacts. That is the only thing preventing me from actually taking advantage of the grouping features TweetDeck provides because I don't need to see the same tweets in multiple columns...

Since Mixero seems very happy <strikestealing</strike borrowing Tweetdeck's granular API update controls, might I suggest Tweetdeck snag Mixero's best feature: A global "kill" list allowing you to banish any tweeter or word from all your panes.

I'd love it.

Multiple accounts is the best thing ever ... Only problem is that sometimes when I follow someone it follows from the wrong account. The selection box for choosing which account to follow from doesn't always come up either. At other times, even with the selection box checked right, it will still follow from the wrong account.

I was all excited when the multiple accounts came out. Then I tried using it. "Worth the wait" - No. "Full multi-account goodness" - No. It's a giant pita to use column-wise. After the long wait it's turn out to be the thing that made me leave TweetDeck.
